Deep Trouble Page 4
“Oh, fuck, Fallon.” His fingers tangled in her hair as she swallowed him down while running her nails over his balls. He grunted, stepping back to pull her to a stand.
Brody wasted no time opening her pants and shoving them down her legs. He spun her toward the counter. “Need inside you, Sugar.”
She moaned as he thrust two fingers into her core.
“So damned ready.” He placed one hand on the small of her back and replaced his digits with his cock. Her body squeezed around his shaft. A growl escaped as he took her hard.
“Yes, yes, fuck yes,” she chanted every time he met her end.
Sexiest damned thing he’d ever heard. He pushed harder, faster, fighting to hold off until she was there too. Reaching between her damp thighs, he flicked her clit and her walls pulsed, pulling him deeper.
He shot over the edge with her, shouting her name. Needing more of her, his hands glided around and up her torso, pulling her against his chest. “Love you so damned much, Fallon.”
She turned, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him in for a kiss. His cell phone rang, and he leaned back with a frown.
“Go ahead, answer it. Later, I’ll take what I want.” She winked, pulling her pants up.
“I don’t have to go in,” he murmured.
“We both have work, babe. You can drive me, and I’ll come to you when I’m done.”
He grabbed his phone and pressed talk. “Hey.”
“You going to be there today,” Slater asked.
“Yeah, leaving in a few.”
“Think you can squeeze in my bike?”
“Yeah. What does it need?”
Fallon grinned as she redressed him with a smirk.
Slater sighed. “It’s making a strange sound. It’s your job to figure out why.”
Brody closed his eyes. “I’ll be there in a few.”
Chapter 8
Fallon walked into Inktastic and found Tremaine standing next to Adam. A sense of dread rattled through her.
“Have a minute?” he asked.
“Sure,” she answered.
Tremaine nodded toward her room. “In private.”
A frown twisted her lips, but she turned and stepped into her station. He shut the door and immediately cast the spell to seal in the sound.
Fallon shoved her hands in her pocket. “What’s going on?”
“You haven’t told him. Damn it, Fallon, you need to talk to him.”
She crossed her arms over her chest. “What the fuck? That’s not your call.”
“Stop! Don’t start that with me. If you didn’t feel guilty about keeping secrets, you wouldn’t pull this bullshit.” He motioned to her stomach. “Now stop acting like I’m going to give up your secret. You’ve known me too damned long.”
Fallon drew a deep breath. “Fine. Why are you so antsy for me to tell him? I know you have secrets you haven’t told Liz or Robert. And after Liz’s revelation?” Her brow arched.
His eyes narrowed. “This isn’t about me. That doesn’t affect them, but I will tell them soon. Shit, it’s not even something I think about. But you, if something were to happen to one of you, it would likely be linked to your little girl needing to shift. He should know.”
“Yeah. He will. But right now, things are good. I don’t want to worry Brody.”
“He’s your mate. Ever think your worrying is only going to make his worse?”
“Haven’t been worrying about it lately. Nothing weird has happened.”
Tremaine paced away, taking a deep breath. When he turned back, he stared into her eyes. “Don’t make me tell him on your behalf.”
“It’s not your place. Just like it wouldn’t be my place to spill your secret.”
“Soon. Now, what are you doing here?”
He scrubbed a hand over his face. “After the news I got last night, I need to tell them tonight. Right now, I need to ask a favor.”
“Ask.”
“Roxanna Nights is my niece. She’s in a similar position as you.”
Her brow cranked down. “Only she’s a werewolf. And druid.”
He nodded. “Same problem. When druids are changed, their hormones adapt more slowly. So she was able to get pregnant when she shouldn’t have. She has to shift, but she can do it magically, and the baby will be fine. You shift the same way, and your druid/wolf baby changes magically. Think you’d be willing to hang with her every full moon?”
Fallon nodded, a slow smile forming. “Yeah. Might be nice having another druid with me. Keep us both in the clear.”
Tremaine pinched the bridge of his nose. “Fallon, keeping secrets from Brody will only hurt you in the end.”
“Trem, please stop nagging me about it. You haven’t told Robert or Liz about your other half. It’s been months since you all got together. And look at the fact Liz is mixed like you.”
“Fuck. You realize I’ve been keeping that secret for two damned centuries? If the Silver Council knew, they would have slapped a death warrant on me. I’ve buried that particular truth so deep I don’t even think about it. Not even when we confirmed Liz is the same as me.”
Fallon nodded slowly. “But you plan to tell them?”
“Have to now. I honestly hadn’t thought about it until I got the news last night.”
“Point made. I don’t want Brody to worry, though.”
“I’d wager he takes it better than you expect. Brody isn’t like all those assholes in your past. And yeah, he may initially worry but only until he understands. If he wants to talk to someone who saw a similar instance, send him to me, and I’ll explain.”
“Thanks, Trem. See ya later?” she offered a half-hearted smile before he saw himself out.

Adam shuffled into Brody’s garage with a grave expression. “Fallon’s keeping something from you. She came into the shop and locked herself in her room with Tremaine. Then he did that freaky sound-blocking spell where no one heard a damned thing until he left.”
“Don’t, Adam. They’re friends, and he may have had sensitive info to discuss.”
Adam chuckled. “I wasn’t saying they were banging, but I’d bet they’re sharing secrets. Did she ever tell you what was bothering her?”
“She’s worried about being a bad mother. Plus, she’s not real keen on hospitals and doctors. A fear of machines. So yeah, she’s freaking out about normal mom stuff.”
“So why is she talking to a mage?” Adam asked with a raised brow. “Not to mention the fact that she appeared really uncomfortable. So what the hell is going on?”
“I don’t know exactly, but she’ll come to me when she’s ready. She’s afraid of something, but I can’t figure out what. I mean, some of it she admits, but there’s more.” Brody sighed and leaned against the wall. “Maybe she’s worried I’ll freak out about whatever druid babies do when they’re little? Hmm, maybe I should bring that up.”
“Maybe. Anyway, I thought you’d like to know.”
Brody sighed. “Leave it alone. Okay? We’ll sort it out.”
“All right.” Adam ducked through the door, and Brody stood there, staring at his back.
Whatever was going on with Fallon would come out sooner or later. At least, he hoped so.

A text came in two seconds after Fallon finished Hayden’s tattoo. She had an hour before the next appointment, so she grabbed her phone, headed out and ran into Adam on the way.
“Hey, Adam, want a drink? I’ve got to meet Roxy for a bit, but I’ll bring you something.”
“Why are you meeting Roxy?”
Fallon grinned. “It’s her secret, not mine.”
“That why Tremaine was here?”
Fallon nodded. “Like I said, not my secret to share. Want a drink?”
“Nah, already had my coffee.”
Shrugging, she hurried out the door and across the street to offer Roxy support. By the time she came back, she felt more comfortable with her position. If an actual werewolf/druid
could carry a baby, a druid could have a werewolf baby.
Maybe she could relax and explain to Brody after all. Her situation wasn’t totally unique. Telling him could wait until after the next full moon.
Chapter 9
A few weeks passed, and Fallon had relaxed. Whatever was bothering her had faded. Until today.
Brody watched her from the bed as she seemed to sweep around the room, tidying things at a frenzied pace. Strictly a nervous habit. At least, at the frantic pace she moved.
“Worried about shifting tonight?” Brody asked her softly.
“Nah. Looking forward to having another druid with us. The magic is comforting.” Her face scrunched as she turned toward him. “Is that weird?”
Brody shrugged, sitting up with a smile. “Come here, Sugar.”
She approached him, and he took her hands, pulling her into his lap. Fallon straddled his legs.
“Not weird. You have another druid too. Your brother will be there. But I think maybe it’s the fact you both have life growing right here.” He spread his hand over her stomach and grinned up at her. Her small bump filled him with warmth. “Our angels.”
Fallon smirked. “More likely devils. Mom called me trouble more often than not.”
He shrugged. “I may have gotten into a bit of that here and there, but never too much. I’m sure you weren’t a hellion.”
A smirk played over her face. “Oh, I caused plenty. I never could sit back and let things go. You know that.”
“I have something you can hold onto.” He shifted his hips, grinding his hard length against her.
She climbed off him to scoot out of her pants. He freed his cock, and she was on him in an instant, sliding down, taking him in. She rode him hard.
Brody gripped her hips, and she pushed him back, covering his mouth with hers. Their tongues danced as he wrapped his hands around her hips, guiding her faster.
She moaned low in her throat when he placed soft kisses down her neck. Sexiest sound he’d ever heard.
He rolled her onto her back and pulled her shirt and bra off with a single tug, throwing them behind him as he scooted down her body, kissing as he went. Closing his lips over her nipple, he flicked the ring with his tongue.
“Brody, stop playing and fuck me.”
“Getting there,” he murmured, climbing off the bed to pull her ass to the edge. Licking through her heat, he growled in satisfaction as she writhed under his tongue. He pushed three fingers into her hard while sucking her clit.
She cried out, her back arching. He loved how her body responded to his touch. “Goddess, yes!” she cried as she came undone. Her caramel essence coated his tongue, making him harder.
Brody pushed her up the bed and thrust into her as he took her mouth. Fallon’s fingers tangled in his hair, holding on as she welcomed him into her body.
They moved together as one. Pleasure skyrocketed. She rolled him over, rising above to take him deeper. Her breasts swayed. Always gorgeous but the extra curves provided by pregnancy gave him more to caress and devour.
He found her slippery pearl with his thumb. Brody pressed tight, circling the bead until she came, bringing him with her.
She collapsed on top of him with a happy sigh. “Love you, baby.”
“Sure you want to go on the run?”
“Very. Anyway, Roxy needs me. She’s worried about her little one.”
Brody rolled her to his side and covered her small bump with one hand. “You worried about these two?”
She grinned. “No. I can’t wait until you can feel them move.”
“Do you?”
“Flutters for now.”
“I’m excited.” He kissed her quick. “Unfortunately, we better go.”
Rolling off the bed, she hurried getting dressed. “You aren’t worried, are you?”
“After what we just did? No,” he murmured. Though he couldn’t help wondering what had been on her mind before he made love to her.

Fallon smiled at Roxy as she entered the clearing and pulled Brody with her. Roxy looked around nervously.
“How are you doing? Still getting sick?” Fallon asked.
Roxy groaned. “Yeah. It’s the pits. You?”
“Little here and there. Not as bad as in the beginning.” Though the cramping had started, signaling Rhiannon wanted to change.
Roxy grinned. “Then there’s hope I won’t have to deal with puking much longer.”
“Let’s hope.”
“You ready?” Trevor asked.
Roxy swallowed hard and nodded.
Fallon touched her shoulder, offering a reassuring smile. “We’ve practiced this. Relax and call on your magic.” With a wink, she shifted
Roxy took a slow breath and caressed her own stomach. “Here goes nothing.” She took a step back and shifted into a beautiful white wolf in an instant. A happy sound escaped, and she brushed against Fallon.
Trevor and Brody tossed off their clothes and let their wolves flow over them. It took them several moments to complete the change. Fallon and Roxy had shifted magically in in a heartbeat.
Brody bumped against Fallon. She nudged back before capturing Roxy’s gaze and nodding into the forest.
Fallon led the way, following her nose to her prey. Her stomach rolled with the thought of what she meant to do. Tearing into a beast never sat right with her. An asshole who hurt or threatened someone she cared about, that was another story. For some reason, killing an animal was different, though eating cooked meat had never been an issue.
Roxy charged ahead and took down a bear.
Fallon’s nerves settled slightly. At least, she didn’t have to make the kill. Her stomach rumbled even as she inwardly groaned.
Worst craving ever. The texture and taste disgusted her. For the twins, she was willing to do anything to ensure their safety, but this was nasty.
Brody waited beside her, mirroring Trevor and Roxy. Fallon stepped away first. Then Roxy. The guys took their turn as Roxy sauntered over to Fallon with a happy sigh.
Unlike Roxy, she didn’t have a beast to drive her. Not unless you counted one of the twins growing inside her.
Why couldn’t everything be normal?
She gazed at Brody, who watched her, his ice blue eyes full of concern. He probably worried about the fact she hated raw meat. A pang of guilt hit. Soon, she needed to tell him. Very soon. Her only hope was it wouldn’t change anything between them.

As the moon left the sky, Brody led Fallon, Roxy, and Trevor back where their clothes still lay. Fallon took her human form and sat on the boulder. One hand went to her stomach, the other to her mouth. Then she dashed to the trees, dropping to her knees to barf up everything left in her stomach.
Brody shifted, yanked his pants on and approached. Kneeling beside her, he pulled her hair back behind her ears, carefully stroking the sides of her face. “You okay, Sugar?”
She shook her head and vomited again. “Uh-uh. Fucking hate raw meat.”
“Then why’d you eat it?” he asked, trying not to sound judgmental.
Fallon groaned, not bothering to look up. “We were going to be shifted for too long not to.”
“You could have shifted back anytime,” he pointed out. “Maybe we should have brought you a snack.”
She shook her head. Rhiannon needed it. “I can suck it up and deal.”
“Fallon, no one would have minded. You have to do what’s best for you.”
No, I need to do what’s best for our babies. She drew a slow breath. “The twins make me crave it. What else am I supposed to do?” The half-truths had become effortless.
His brow arched. “What do you mean?”
She licked her lips. “A craving, nothing more. You know, like how I want to dip pretzel sticks in chocolate fudge frosting?” Her brow arched.
He grinned. “Which is sexy as hell.”
A smile spread on her lips. “Can we go home now?”
“Mmm. Wan
t to curl up with you.” He hopped up and pulled her to her feet. “You really okay?”
“Yeah,” she answered.
Roxy gave Fallon a hug. “Thanks for running with me. I feel better now that I got through the night.”
“Hey, no worries. You two enjoy your morning.”
“You too. Sorry you got sick.”
She shrugged. “Morning sickness. It happens.” Probably every full moon until her twins arrived.
Chapter 10
The next day, Brody went to surprise Fallon with lunch. He noticed she sat at the counter of A Good Book, talking to Tremaine.
Again.
Something was going on, and she wasn’t talking about it.
Clenching his jaw, he turned to step into Inktastic.
When Adam spotted Brody, his brow arched. “You sure you aren’t curious what the hell is between the two of them?”
“She’s not cheating on me,” Brody growled.
Adam snorted. “Never said she was. However, you got to admit it’s weird she’s spending so much time talking to Tremaine instead of you. He’s not even a druid.”
Brody shook his head. “What does that have to do with anything? They’re friends.”
“She’s keeping something from you. Have you asked her point blank what’s going on?”
Brody pushed his fingers through his hair. “No. She keeps changing the subject. I don’t get it. She’s always talked to me before.”
Amethyst stepped out of the hall and sank into a chair in the reception area. She gave him a sad smile. “You have her a bit freaked out. Nightmares, worries, thinking something might happen to her. I told her to talk to you, but she doesn’t want to worry you worse.”
“That’s it?” Brody demanded.
“All I could get out of her.”
“And what about her talking to Tremaine?” Adam asked.
Amethyst looked away. “Ask her.”
“What do you know?” Brody questioned.
